What to look forward to from PlayStation in 2020

2019 has been a great year for the PlayStation brand. PlayStation just took the center stage in big events and shows, opting to share information on upcoming games through small, Nintendo Direct-esque streams called the State of Play.

The PlayStation 4 is still stealing the show with the exclusive Final Fantasy 7 Remake arrived in March alongside Nioh 2. If you’re a PlayStation 4 owner, you should be excited about the swan song offerings of 2020.

Things are little lull on the PlayStation VR front. You will get to have a great experience if you own a headset. Sony is not going to launch any new headset and the baseline PSVR will be compatible with the PlayStation 5.

The classic VR game releasing in 2020 is Half-Life: Alyx at PSVR. The PlayStation 5 will be the thing of attraction throughout 2020. You would likely get some new capabilities and technical details for the PlayStation 5.

There would be many other releases in 2020 including console exclusive Godfall as a PlayStation 5 launch title, Sony Worldwide Studios will also release some games alongside additional third-party titles like Bluepoint Games’ upcoming PlayStation 5 game.

Simplicity will rule the roost that will go double considering how much has shifted at the top. Shawn Layden has already resigned from his role as Chairman of Sony Worldwide Studios (WWS) earlier in 2019, Shuhei Yoshida has also resigned as President of Sony WWS and Hermen Hulst, the co-founder of Guerrilla Games, has been stepped up to Head of Sony WWS.

Although the company policies and goals from their predecessors are likely still in place, the messaging for this new leadership team is critical.

There are many more things in the pipeline in terms of new and revolutionary games and leaderships in 2020, it is sure to keep you entertained throughout this year.
