Samsung Revamps the Galaxy A Series

Samsung is kicking off the new year with two new additions to their Galaxy A series. The Korean giant just announced that the A5 & A3 are getting bold upgrades. This time the mid-range phones will feature improved battery life, higher MP cameras & the same seductive presentation as the S7. To make things even more appealing, the new A series will be dust & waterproof. The new wave of improvements is bridging the gap between their more expensive counterparts. This is exciting news to anyone who couldn’t afford the Galaxy S7.

These welcome improvements are making the A series shockingly similar to the high-end S series. At the end of the day, the only technical difference between the S & A series will be the memory & processor. These phones will also be a lot cheaper than their flagship counterparts. Now you don’t have to break the bank to get a quality Samsung phone.

These phones are getting ready to steal the show!

“At Samsung, we are always trying to ensure our customers have the most advanced products on the market,” said DJ Koh, president of mobile communications business, Samsung Electronics. “We integrated our unique approach to design as well as the features Galaxy customers have come to love to provide added performance without compromising on style.”

The A series is back with a vengeance after receiving a much needed tune-up by Samsung. The A5 & A3 will feature major camera & battery improvements. The new models will sport reversible USB Type-C ports & Always on Displays. The latter will help save battery life by showing notifications without waking up the device. Both feature improved selfie features that let you take pictures by touching anywhere on the screen. To provide more space to store photos, each model accommodates microSD storage.

Out of the two new releases, the Galaxy A5 has the most impressive features. It will sport Samsung’s Fast Charging Technology, which will allow it to reach 50% in less than 20 minutes. The battery boasts a whopping 3,000mAh, a vast improvement from last year. The screen is also bigger than its counterpart, clocking in at 5.2 inches. The A5 also steals the show with its camera. Both the front & rear cameras harness the raw power of 16 MP. All this will run with a 1.9GHz octa core processor.

Even though the A3 has humbler specs, it’s still impressive for the price. The A3 is powered by a 1.6GHz octa core processor & a 2,350mAh battery. There’s no fast charging, but it still sports an impressive camera. The 8MP front camera & 13 MP rear camera gives this phone some impressive capabilities.

The A5 & A3 are set to debut in Russia & then make their way to Europe. There is still no set release date, but preorders will be available in the UK on January 20th. From there the models are set to hit Europe by “early February”. Customers who participate in the preorder will get Samsung Level Active Wireless Headphones for free. There is still no set price for the phones, but prices should be similar to last year. As a reference the 2016 A3 model retailed at £299 while the A5 cost £303.

At the end of the day these are some impressive improvements. The Galaxy A series is finally closing the gap between its more expensive counterparts. Now bargain hunters finally have a viable option when searching for low cost high quality phones.
